OUR JOURNEY

THE BEGINNING
Re-Vive was created in 2018 under the social enterprise umbrella of Enactus. Since then we have worked towards our aim of reducing food waste in Leeds, and educating people about healthy and sustainable living.

Previously, Re-Vive ran a weekly stall in the University of Leeds Union where we sold surplus food supplied from The Real Junk Food Project that would otherwise be sent to landfill.
LAST YEAR
As well as running our stall on university campus, Re-Vive introduced the aim of educating a new generation of cooks and consumers about the issues associated with food waste, land fill and sustainability.

Over the course of the year we saved 300kg of food waste from going to landfill
NOW
Due to extensive research, Re-Vive has changed its course. We still uphold our three core aims:
We have now placed an increased importance on the distribution of the food that we are providing, aiming to help the most vulnerable in society.  Rather than selling to students at the University, we now work with a local primary school within which over 1/3 of the families are living in poverty.

Educate about issues of food waste and consumption habits
Promote sustainable living as an attainable lifestyle
